Marcus Monk, former Houston Nutt coached wideout who spent a brief amount of time on the Chicago Bears roster before returning to Fayetteville to play hoops, was removed from the Razorback basketball team after it was revealed that he had been in violation of certain eligibility rules. Houston Nutt found out and snitched to Andy Kennedy who in turn snitched on Monk.
Wow. Just, wow.
You've done it again, Razorback nation. You've derailed the reason express. What's even more amazing is that each subsequent anti-Nutt allegation is more preposterous than it's predecessor. What's next? Is Houston Nutt hiding Bin Laden? Was Houston Nutt on the grassy knoll? Has Houston Nutt written this badass new book called Diuretics or something?
Look, Houston Nutt had nothing to do with this. Monk was in violation of the rules and he got caught. Yes, it is that simple. I know that it isn't the convenient or fun answer, Arkansas, but it's the most logical. Despite whatever you may think, Houston Nutt has better things to do than investigate the eligibility of his former receivers.
All of the necessary links are within that thread so click away if you've got time. Suffice it to say, this shit is bananas like monkey turds and just about as lofty so peruse at your own risk.
You're not fooling me, Nutt!

I would've gone with: You've capsized the Underwater Stupid Tank to WhackJob Island, but to each their own, right?
Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick. Somebody make it stop.
You get the impression that Fayetteville is filled with people who think the moonwalked was faked but wrestling is real?
+1, lawyers.
It's official. A fanbase more embarrassing to humanity than LSU's.
Rebels7, I'll try to forget you said that. Even if it is/was true.
I have a feeling that many, many Arkansas fans will end up in jail when they come to "Oxfart to watch Coach Petrinah hang a hunnert on that sorry sumbtich Nutt".
concerning peyton hillis. he was on ole miss' sideline during the florida game. he must really hate what nutt said about him
Shank in ear,
Is your name a Shawshank Redemption reference? Also, where exactly did you glean that interesting bit of tid? That's a neat fact to know.
its a miller county georgia jail reference. rough joint. a few of the inmates had a meth lab behind the jail before it was discovered recently. i was on the 50 yard line about two rows up and we saw him on the sideline. had the old arkansas A tatooed on his shoulder.
Shank...please tell me he was wearing a sleeveless shirt. Friggin' Conway, AR.
It's been well documented in the Arkansas newpapers and websites, that Marcus Monk was ruled ineligible because a former gruaduate assistant on former head basketball coach Stan Heath's staff, gave a personal loan to Monk for college exspenses, before the 2nd semester of the school year began.
Monk supposedly didn't believe he did anything wrong when he recieved the money from the ex-graduate assistant, ex-HS coach, and a longtime friend Monk has known since the age of 10.
Sure, there were a few suspisions about Nutt possibly throwing a monkey wrench into the frying pan, because knowone knew the true story until recently, so big deal.
Anyone associated with Monk in his past was an immediate suspision, and "your boy" is the first one that comes to mind, naturally.
Wrong, Gonzo, only you dumb fucking Arkansas people immediately thought of Nutt. Because y'all are douchebags that have conspiracy theory issues that would make Oliver Stone blush.
The fact that you can't see that the idea of Nutt submarining Monk from basketball is completely ridiculous is a prime example of your lunacy.
Try this little bit of reason on for size.
1) Marcus Monk was a Houston Nutt recruit, which means Nutt had to get to know his family.
2) Monk played 4 years for Nutt as one of his best receivers at Arkansas.
3) Monk was a senior on Nutt's last football team at Arkansas.
4) Monk playing a season of basketball at Arkansas has no effect whatsoever on Nutt and his new football team at Ole Miss.
So, knowing all of this, and knowing that Nutt probably has a pretty close relationship with Monk and likely wants him to succeed in life, why in the world would he do something to cut short his attempt to play basketball for one season and one season only?
It really doesn't make sense. Even if Nutt hated Monk (which I'm sure he didn't since he obviously enjoyed the fruits of his efforts for 4 years), why would he care if Monk wanted to play one season of basketball at Arkansas.
After seeing around 20 or so Arkansas players go up to personally speak with Nutt and shake his hand following the loss to Ole Miss this past October, I have a really hard time believing he would have a poor relationship with a former player like Monk, or that he would even consider trying to derail his basketball career.
Logic may be tough for many Arkansans, but this one really shouldn't be that hard.
of course! with backwards hat and ear ring. i didn't know who it was until someone told me.
just curious why peyton hillis wouldn't have been in kansas city on the weekend of the big ole miss win in gainesville.
Nutt may not be hiding bin Laden, but I'm certain that mother fucker keyed my car. I'm glad to see the "Missippi" 'Ledge decided to knight Nutt, or canonize him, or whatever the hell that was. I'll be able to bask in the glow of fucking royalty next October.
i guess he would rather be on the Ole Miss sideline than KC. I didn't ask him, i was too busy watching florida's mascot and band members getting Hotty Toddy stickers put all over them.the game was pretty good too
I have never seen a team so cocky after one 9-win season. Has sucking so bad for so long impaired your ability to rationalize. I just can't wait to read this blog in a few years when it's bashing Houston Nutt for failing to live up to his Knighthood in the state of Mississippi.
"I have never seen a team so cocky after one 9-win season"
And I've never seen one so cocky after a 5-win season.
