Final SEC Power Poll Ballot

Here it is. The final Power Poll ballot of the year. We hope that having our Rebels move all the way up to 3rd in the conference is good enough for you being as how we're only one season removed from playing MPSA style football.

Comments

1

Florida

---

We're picking Florida to convincingly defeat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

2

Alabama

---

Alabama may have sent Auburn's coach a-packing for a change.

3

Ole Miss

+1

The Rebels from the 2nd half of the season would beat the Rebels from the 1st half of the season by 30.

4

Georgia

-1

Georgia Tech completed one, yes, only ONE pass on Saturday.

5

South Carolina

---

You lost to a grown man named Dabo. "Yabbo Dabbo Doo." Get used to hearing that one, Carolina.

6

LSU

---

Who loses to Arkansas?

7

Vanderbilt

---

You know the SEC is having a down year when THREE teams lose and don't budge in the Power Poll Ballot.

8

Tennessee

+3

Sending Fulmer out with a whimper, rather than a flatulent bang. Congrats, Tennessee.

9

Arkansas

+3

Arkansas fans did not like how Nutt would "lose the games he was supposed to win and win the games he was supposed to lose." A good example of this would be losing to Mississippi State one week and beating LSU the next.

10

Kentucky

-2

Most. Boring. Bowl. Eligible. Team. Ever.

11

Auburn

-2

Please fire Tubs. Signed: the rest of the SEC West.

12

Mississippi State

-2

Many Happy Returns!

...to the bottom of our Power Poll ballot.

Great comments this week. But, I think you meant to say that the Rebels from the second half of the season would "beat" the Rebels of the first half of the season, not "be" them.

Thanks ssmund. It's been corrected. Wine tends to cause my typin' fingers to slip around.

Wow Ghost, you spelled something wrong?

I was just curious about something.
If Nutt gets the credit for doing something so great, with someone elses players, then does Petrino get the same credit?
I mean after all, What Petrino accomplished this season, he accomplished with Nutt's players, right?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Gonzo, he gets credit for losing with someone else's players- a feat anyone on Earth could accomplish.

Also, "Who loses to Arkansas?"
Well gee guys, I'm pretty sure Ole Miss came pretty damn close!
Oh yeah, I forgot, your 30 points better now than you used to be.

I guess that means the Hogs are 30 points better too, since they got trounced by 'Bama 49-14 at home, earlier in the year, but came within one questionable call of beating the Rebs with a FG, later in the year.

Hope you have fun ringing in the New Year in Springdale, Gonzo.

Since when does lose = pretty damn close

Anonymous said...

South Carolina should move down two spots for hiring Woody McCorvey.

Anonymous said...

Everyone knows lose doesn't = pretty damn close, but the point is the game could have went either way.
Are you saying Ole Miss losing to 'Bama by only 4 means nothing?

Bob said...

"Oh yeah, I forgot, your 30 points better now than you used to be."

Yes, Gonzo, we certainly are. The team at the beginning of the season was horribly streaky and lacked any sort of swagger. The team now can hang with anybody. ANYBODY.

Anonymous said...

I still don't see what was questionable about that call. Maybe I'm a little biased, but that would make everyone not from Arkansas biased.

ericwindham said...

No it means we played a decent game against Bama. But we still lost.

I agree with everything Gonzo said, and Orgeron would have won 9 or 10 games this season!

Bob said...

Anyone who beleives that Orgeron would win "9 or 10 games" in any season is a fucking dolt.

Ivory Tower said...

Dolt doesn't fully articulate how detached from reality one must be to think Orgeron could've taken this team to the Cotton Bowl. Willfully ignorant of reality is probably a better description.

Anonymous said...

Alabama will beat Florida and would trounce Ole Miss again if they played tomorrow. This time, we wouldn't go to sleep after building a big lead so you guys would shut the hell up!

Anonymous said...

I hear Orjeron might be coaching with Lane Kiffin in Knoxville, Tenn. pretty soon.
I wonder if he'll build the same kind of defense there he built in Oxford, Mississippi?
They should change there name from Volunteers to LandSharks. That would be cool.

Ha, you boys have taken it hook, line and sinker. Enjoy the next few years. This is as good as it gets for you.

Anon,

Ha! Fuck off.
