Post Of the Month on Rivals

The whole landshark debate got a bit out of control, but this last post borders on the lines of insanity and retardation.

I support Coach " K" 100 % this is a lame attempt....Reply

of a witch hunt against a successful white man who happen's to be a coach at Ole Miss.

Just another liberal democratic political correctness attack against a white man from a radical minority and radical minority supporters.

I have no words...

What a mind fuck. It's like MagicEye except no matter how long you stare, nothing of importance shows. That shit is fuckin' deep brah.

The media makes money off of headlines. Something about Mississippi Racist Coach sells. Even if there are no facts (yet) to support such claims.

While there is some truth to what you're saying, JaxReb, to act as if there exists a far-reaching, anti-white people conspiracy network of which Kennedy just became a victim is just a bit absurd.

JaxReb,
If Rod Barnes got arrested in Oxford at 1:00 a.m. in the morning, do you think the Eagle, Journal and C-L would cover it? I do. Do you think they'd wait until there was forensic evidence or something that could be 100% construed as a fact before they covered it? No, they would not. Those were not inflammatory headlines from the Cincy media. They covered a story that obviously generated a lot of interest. Media conspiracy theories, and self-victimization in general, are buttarded.

Also, literally every Cincy based headline I read referred to AK as "Former UC Coach." Further, how should ESPN refer to him in the headline? "Andy Kennedy"? Do you think 97% of people who read ESPN would've known who "Andy Kennedy" is? Well, at least two days ago they didn't.

Larry Eustachy. Bob Huggins. Mike Price. Nobody from Ole Miss was claiming a "media bias" or a "campaign to paint southerners as racists/drunkards/etc." when all those stories broke. This has the exact same news value. People are interested in it. Yes, ultimately it does make money. Nobody ever said the job of a news outlet was not to make money. But this story wouldn't make money if it didn't have legitimate news value.

I'm not trying to be inflammatory, honestly, but the people who are just blindly and wildly defending AK and calling anyone else associated with this story a "liar", "money grubber" or member of the "elite liberal media" just baffle the hell out of me. The guy is semi-famous. He got shithoused (no one arguing that point) and got in a fight that impartial witnesses saw. Of course people are going to report it. Why doubt their credibility?

There's a little bit more to this story than just weather or not Kennedy is or is not guilty.

While Kennedy is a very good, young basketball coach, (yes, that's a compliment Ole Miss fans)one would have to be concerned, just a little, that the entire coaching staff was at a bar, somewhere in Cincinnati on a week night. (after 1:00 A.M.)
Isn't this the same kind of action you wouldn't want to encourage your players to partake in?
Aren't the coaches suppose to lead by example?

Remember that old phrase momma used to say? "Nothing good ever happens after midnight."

I agree that young kids making mistakes need second chances to redeem themselves socially, but I think the coaching staff of a major div.1 university is just a tad bit different, don't you think?

If Kennedy is so worried about the media taking focus away from his basketball team, then he clearly doesn't need to be in a bar with his staff at 1:00 A.M. in the morning.
What more does a 40 year old man need to know?

Gonzo, you're douchedness rears its ugly head again.

He's 40. If he wants to go have a couple of drinks at 1:00 he is allowed to. Who the fuck are you to say he can't?

Rebels7,

It doesn't suprise me to get ignorance as a response, but stupidity is something I thought even you were above.

Anonymous said...

When you see me on an Arkansas blog making idiotic comments, I'll begin to care about my perceived intelligence.

I think Gonzo Hog makes a good point. But he's still a Razorback/bitch.

Thanks Roy. It's nice to know some folks will at least agree with common sense, even if they do root for a Nutt.

Rebels7,

You give yourself too much credit.
I didn't perceive you had any.

Gonzo, these coaches are not on a 9-5 schedule. They were at meetings untill 11:00pm and then went out and ate and then to the establishment where the alleged incident took place. There were coaches back at the hotel with the players so no harm no foul. No one will ever know what exactly happened that night exept the people involved so shut up and let it play out.

Incredible!

Just a few days ago a lot of Rebel fans wanted this man fired, saying enough is enough.
Now, all of a sudden, when GonzoHog says it should be a concern the Ole Miss coaches put themselves in that kind of a situation, someone rushes to their side.

Hurry! someone get to a dictionary and look up the definition of fucktard.

I was going to keep my opinion out of this, but I am siding with Gonzohog.

Kennedy and his staff go out late often before games. It has to be a distraction to the team and to themselves. You all know the arguments, so I am just going to go ahead and quit talking about it.

Hiram Cross said...

It "has to be a distraction" is a far cry from "it is a distraction." Maybe it would be a distraction to you. Then again, you're an anonymous poster on a comment thread, not a NCAA D1 head basketball coach, so your sensibilities may be a shade more delicate.

I never understood why adults see fit to concern themselves with off-the-job activities of fellow adults. Maybe they're lacking for a hobby (not that I was asked, but I'd suggest orgami- you could make a hat, a boat, or a pterodactyl!).

Coach K doesn't need or want a nanny. This is a college sports blog. Moralize someplace else.

I see. So what your saying is, being a solid figure or representative of Ole Miss university and the SEC, isn't something that should be bothered with, unless your court-side, drawing up a play, while also directing your players and screaming at the referees. (Curses! What could I be thinking?)

Well alrighty then. The next time I'm out in public without my kids, I'll try to keep it in mind that I'm an off-the-job parent.
Maybe if I say all the right words and smooth it over a little with the media, it won't be a distraction to my kids that I possibly made a complete ass of myself in public and got myself thrown in the can with one of my drunk co-workers.
I'm quite sure such a spectacle would even be the smallest of interest to them, much less make them lose focus of any such priorities that may exist in thier life.

Thanks for setting me straight.
